February 2014 Blog Hop Day 1

Who introduced me to D&D?  A guy by the name of Paul Ruud, who lived two doors down from me in the dorm, invited me to join in a game with some of his friends from NROTC.  It was fall of '79 and they were playing 1e.  'My character was Caradoc, a cleric, and he made it to 5th level before I stopped playing him regularly.  I suspect the character sheet is in one of infamous boxes in the basement.

Haven't seen Paul since San Diego in about 1992, although he did ping me a few years ago for one of his kid's school projects.

It wasn't really first time I heard of the game, but that's a post for day seven.
